Gerald Monter Is Experienced Board Member and Fundraiser



Gerald Monter has always been a very hard working and busy individual. His life has taken him in multiple directions throughout his life. In the 1930's he was a student until he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Education before becoming a teacher for the New York City public schools. He also joined the U.S. Army where he served as 1st Lieutenant before retiring with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. 

Gerald Monter knows life can be difficult but rewarding. For that reason he decided to become a board member of different programs and organizations that were important to him. He is active in both social programs and health organizations. 

Gerald Monter was a member of the Board of the Old Westbury Golf and Country Club from the late 1980’s to the early 1990's. 

Gerald Monter is a board member and fundraiser for the Council of Overseers for the Tilles Center for Performing Arts. The program is part of Long Island University. 

Gerald Monter takes particular pride in his charitable works within several health care organizations. For over 30 years, Gerald Monter has been an Associate Director of the Board, and fundraiser for the North Shore LIJ Health System.

For nearly the same duration, Gerald Monter was board member and fundraiser with the American Cancer Society. Gerald Monter was a board member for 29 years, serving as its Chair two times. He also fundraised for, and sat on the board of the Gurwin Jewish Geriatric Center in Commack, New York.
